Global Sourcing Lead - Oakville

Reports To:   Director of Materials

The Global Sourcing Lead will be a passionate and driven professional with extensive global sourcing experience primarily with metals but other commodities as well.  The individual will investigate and develop sources of supplies, negotiation of Master Supply Agreements (MSA), risk mitigation, and maintain commodity market knowledge. You have knowledge of materials and processes to ensure accuracy of orders preferably in a manufacturing environment with high mix and low volumes. This position requires the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Global purchasing practices and procedures.
  • 5 years global procurement of metals and secondary metal finishing processes.
  • Proven track record of negotiating cost reductions and creation of Master Supply Agreements with vendors.
  • Knowledge of financial hedging
  • Skill in both verbal and written communications.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with 3rd party vendors and internal staff members.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Highly organized with good attention to detail.
  • Microsoft Navision or comparable ERP software experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Providing quarterly commodity pricing charts stating trends
  • Ensuring Supply Assurance in both delivery, pricing and quality
  • Risk mitigation strategies relative to supply assurance and sole source suppliers
  • Supplier Consolidation & Supplier Relationship Management
  • Preparation of Total Cost of Ownership (TOCO)
  • Adhere to and enforce compliance with purchasing policies, procedures, governmental regulations, and laws.
  • Support the Direct of Materials on an implementation plan for global sourcing and targeted annual cost savings.
  • Experience with other commodities such as electrical harnesses, and ferrous metals are considered an asset.
  • Bachelor's degree or a Certificate Program such as Supply Chain Management coupled with a minimum of Five years of sourcing experience.

Work Conditions

  • Some travel may be required.
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations
  • Working varied hours due to scheduling of International calls.
  • Overtime as required especially to support NPI initiatives and schedule compliance.
